About

I am Professor of Applied Geoinformatics at Hochschule Mainz - University of Applied Sciences. From 2022 to 2025 I was a Lecturer / Postdoctoral Researcher in Geoinformatics and Cartography at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Chair of Cartography and Visual Analytics, under the lead of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Liqiu Meng. Prior to 2022, I worked as a research associate at the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics (ikg), Leibniz University Hannover. I completed my PhD with distinction in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Monika Sester.

My research interests include

• Geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) and question answering
• Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) for disaster monitoring
• Cartographic generalization with deep learning methods
• Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS) data processing and modeling
